Susan Golden, CCB Director, Distinguished Professor, was elected to the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Microbiology. The Governors set the Academy’s strategic direction; elect Fellows; develop new topics for colloquia; and establish new programs and initiatives consistent with its overall mission.

Joe Takahashi awarded The Gruber Neuroscience Prize
CCB Advisory Board member Joe Takahashi, received international recognition for his pioneering work on the molecular underpinnings of mammalian circadian rhythms. The Gruber Neuroscience Prize, which honors scientists for advancing our understanding of the nervous system, will be presented at the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting.

SRBR rolls out first public outreach team
Laura Kervezee, Postdoc, McGill University, will serve as the first Public Outreach Fellow for the Society for Research on Biological Rhythms. Laura is joined by four other chronobiologists to form an outreach committee, dedicated to improving the visibility of the organization and highlighting the real-world importance of the field.
